Varl horns, like a fine wine, only get better with age.

Just found this post. The way we've been thinking about the Varl horns is that the older the Varl, the longer and more knotted the horns become. It's nothing earth shaking, but adds a level of natural realism to them. So yeah, the old narrators horns tell of his age.
