Anyone who's played around in Unreal 3 engine before should get a kick out of this arstechnica article on Unreal 4 (http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/06/gorgeous-unreal-engine-4-brings-direct-programming-indirect-lighting/).

They show off an awesome clip of apparently non-prerendered footage with their buff new lighting system. Not only does it look very natural, even going so far as to simulate the eye adjusting to a sudden change of light automatically, but is also adjustable in real time with the upgraded Kismet system. This greatly reduces the amount of development iteration (aka: change something > play scene > change again > replay scene) needed.

Super cool! I'm excited, even though a scaled down version isn't expected to release until a while after the super high end base engine drops.
