I can't wait to learn more about the dredge. I loved the sound bits we heard during the let's play series when the were being struck! They sound like robot velociraptors :). It's a unique noise those guys make, but somehow seems to fit well for them.

The really interesting bit is how lifeless they come across. Like some sort of empty shell. I wonder if they are "alive" like the Varl are, or rather a non living tool for some greater purpose? Time will tell, and we have barely over a month to wait!

Really, what are those Dredge? Perhaps they turn out to be good guys in the end, just fighting for their lebensraum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebensraum)! :D

The banner in the factions intro depicts the dredge arising from the earth, so perhaps they represent some type of iRobot / The Happening scenario to eliminate humans to protect the earth? Regardless, Stoic has done a good job enticing us to ask the questions; what are these things? Where do the come from? And why do they fight?

Also, it's interesting to note that the "coming" of the dredge coincides with the sun stopping in the sky; is this perhaps an omen that the world cannot continue on until something is resolved by the creatures? Is their appearance in the south an indication of a rising power elsewhere (similar to the trolls appearing in new places in the hobbit as Sauron establishes his seat in Mordor :)). So many exciting questions to be answered!

(Holy cow I'm a nerd :))

If you watch one of the youtube videos, the narrator describes it as "the end of the world". Also says during the video the text "The Gods are dead", which reminded me of Ragnarok, part of viking mythology. Dredge still remain a mystery, not one I really want to find out anymore about until I start the game :) that is why im trying to stay away from all the lore about characters haha but cant help it if a youtube video pops up in my subbox

I am really intrigued about that iconic picture of the Dredge holding a dead dear on its shoulder. Do they feed on flesh???

I think Rook and Alette were in the woods hunting for supplies and the dredge is picking up the deer and inspecting the arrow to see how it died. I don't think the dredge killed the deer, but I could be wrong.

I remember that this particular Dredge was called "Starving Dredge" in the PAX demo videos. The deer is also included in the battle map; the Dredge has dropped the carcass and attacks Rook & Alette. We've still got a lot to learn about that race.

By the way, some info about the world's three races is included here (http://stoicstudio.com/game-overview/races/), for those that missed it (thanks Slimsy!)

I like the references to various gods. Even though they are dead, I look forwards to learning more about the Banner Saga pantheon. I also like the teaser about other races. It would be cool to see races other than Varl, Humans and Dredge. (I know Icelandic centaurs have been rumored to be included in Chapter 2)

This could tie up with why there is no horses in this world/story, and all those people are forced to go about on foot. Or on yox :D

Another "Viking thing" that seems (conveniently) left out of the world/story is boats and sea-travel. Hope the future Sagas brings those forth!
