Hi there,
I trust you are doing splendidly and enjoying the season.

I have recently discovered "The Banner Saga" universe, and I'm looking forward to buy the trilogy, yet I am a little bit confused...
There are several game retailers mentioned in the "Store" window, but that info is somewhat outdated, since some links were reported as broken. Also, I saw discussions about game updates that differ from one retailer to another... Even more, the Kickstarter for "The Banner Saga 3" doesn't allow me to further accept any offer shown there (I can't click anything)(I guess the project is closed, yet it still pose the best pledge).

I would very much appreciate if you could help me find the right place to buy the updated games (1+2) and also the 3rd game (+automatically featured updates) (getting the trilogy, fully updated, with 1 purchase would be ideal).
Thank you!

Have a nice day and please do take care!

Regards,

Lundar

Hi Lundar
The third installment is not out yet, but you can buy the latest versions of the Banner Saga 1 and 2 on Steam - it's always up to date:

Hey Lundar. Please provide the links to the confusing stores you mentioned, so that we can clean/update them. :)

Greetings,

I was referring to https://stoicstudio.com/store/ , regarding these ones https://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/the-banner-saga/113372 , https://store.ubi.com/eu/thebannersaga?isIntRed=true
Well they might work if some kind of accounts/registration is required, idk, I initially clicked random game retailers mentioned in the store, and the very first 2 clicks came up with errors :))
Anyhow, I bought TBS 1 from Steam per Iuliana's recommendation. Thank you!
I have finished the game, but... I noticed some campaign inconsistencies (+ or - numbers a.k.a varls, fighters, days). I was wondering if it was my imagination, then went for further investigation and discovered this:
https://www.nexusmods.com/thebannersaga/mods/1
These "Fixed" things sound interesting, so I've downloaded it, but it won't work with my original Steam game.
This situation is what I've ment by "updated game" :>

Otherwise, the Steam client is running well, the game indeed updated and there is some "mod content" shown in the table https://imgur.com/a/SDKuO
If there is any way to actually fix some of the numers mentioned in that mod, please let me know https://imgur.com/a/hB5Ty
All I say is that a few clansmen, fighters and varls are actually missing by not joining the caravan when prompted.

The game is a masterpiece, and I'm looking forward to buy TBS 2, but I am not sure about this save file :D First, I might replay TBS 1.

Have a nice day and please do take care!

Lundar

Note: This is the 3rd message (time order / second message needs some kind of approval)

I have successfully bought both games TBS 1 and TBS 2 from Steam (per Iuliana's recommendation) and I am very happy with these purchases :D (I guess the next game will be on Steam too).
I have installed them, and then the games automatically updated, and even installed some DLCs (coming with the games).
I can hardly wait for the 3rd installment :D I wish the developer team good luck, they will definitely do great work finishing the saga.

I do very much appreciate your support.
Thanks,

Lundar

N.B. Please consider this thread solved.

Hey Lundar. Thanks for writing back. I'm sure you'll have a great time with Saga2 and possible replays of both games :)

Concerning the NexusMods you mentioned -- These are maintained by a (single) fan modder and might be outdated. The problem is that game-engine updates (from new features introduced to Saga2 and/or 3) are back-ported to Saga1 as well, which introduces changes to the game-files and potentially breaks these mods... Patch notes rarely contain every little/minor change, so it's rather tedious to track everything and manually update the mod across dozens of game-files. Here (http://stoicstudio.com/forum/showthread.php?3698-MOD-YaK-s-SSLTBS1-Fixpack-(Spare-Some-Love-To-Banner-Saga-1)&p=34081&highlight=SSLTBS#post34081)'s the modders last update
