    Factions Compiled Beta Patch Notes- A History

    Build 1.1.104

    Our first live Beta build!

    Known Issues:

    • Slow performance on many machines. This is due to unoptimized graphics. We will be addressing this going forward. We don't necessarily need to hear what your performance levels are right now, but we would like to hear about performance changes (better or worse) as we release new builds.
    • Battle mis-matches. Sometimes you find a match and enter the battle, only to see an empty battleground. Often, you are unable to exit the battle and must exit the entire game client.
    • Steam connectivity. Sometimes, when logging in, you see the debug login page. You'll see it because it is dark blue and looks like programmer art.
    • The "Players Online: " text on the Versus page sometimes cuts off the number.
    • Some battle tiles don't show up, typically related to where you deployed your party.
    • Crashes on startup on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (maybe all 10.6.x)

    • Toggle fullscreen with CONTROL-SHIFT-F.

    Build 1.2.6 Release Notes

    • added Strand, Great Hall, and Proving Grounds screens
    • fix for missing battle board tiles after deployment
    • performance optimizations during battle board, particularly while panning the camera
    • improved logging of unplanned exits to track down Windows XP startup issue
    • modified compiler options to be more friendly to Mac OS X 10.6.x
    • chat window is now available on the battle resolution screen
    • chat window now displays the name of your opponent at the start of battle
    • fix to disable hotkeys while typing in chat
    • fix for tempest incorrectly showing corner unit tiles as targetable
    • versus screen now shows correct number of players online
    • battles that suffer divergence now show an error dialog immediately rather than continuing
    • versus now tries to match you against an opposing party of equal power, and slowly opens the power window to a difference of 30 power over 20 seconds. Party power is shown to the right of your party in the proving grounds.
    • battle info bar now shows information about the selected target when it is not your turn
    • added new GUI sounds and special ability sounds
    • added bodyfall foley sounds on death
    • added foley sound for provoker idle
    • added countdown sound when turn or deployment is about to run out of time
    • fix battle Ready button for deploy appearing too early. This was causing issues if it was clicked too soon
    • fix for entering an empty battle and being unable to see your units or start playing
    • fix for battle action hotkeys (1,2,3,4) causing errors near end of turn
    • fix for battle action hotkeys causing popup menu to briefly appear
    • fix for attack mode sometimes showing adjacent enemies out of range and zero damage potential after a move
    • enlarged deployment zones so you can deploy further back from the front lines if desired
    • updated the boats graphics in the background of the battle scene
    • all character classes stat ranges balanced and updated
    • replaced info flags over characters' heads with more compact version
    • steam names now update properly in game when changed in steam


    Known Issues:
    • Black screen is still an issue on Win XP. We now have an XP machine in the office to help troubleshoot the problem.

    Known Issues:
    • Black screen is still an issue on Win XP. We now have an XP machine in the office to help troubleshoot the problem.

      • Text rows spacing is expanded and fixed
      • Text now supports full international font sets

      • Units now auto deploy to the back row

    • Added server diagnostics for divergences
    • Hardened the server against a particular kind of stumble
    • The loading screen prior to battle stays up a little longer to ensure that everything is loaded before pulling back the curtain.

    Factions Compiled Patch Notes- A History of Builds

    Build 1.3.41 Release Notes (mini-update)
    Changes:
    • Forge Ahead VFX added
    • Rosters and Parties Wiped. Starting roster now contains 1 of each advanced class, no base classes
    • Renown reset to 1000
    • Allow Armor attack when Armor Break is zero but exertion can be used
    • Versus chat bumped up, and auto-hides when match is found. Enter key can still be used to re-activate it

    Bug Fixes
    • Fixed Warleader passive animation on Proving Ground ability page
    • Fix for Beach scene posts not showing up
    • Malice buff icon no longer appears on the Provoker

    Build 1.3.38 Release Notes
    New Features:
    • Warleader Class with Forge Ahead ability
    • Stonewall changed to grant +3 damage resistance to the Axemaster
    • New Battle Map on Strand Beach (with obstacles!)
    • "Best Win Streak" leaderboard replaces Current Win Streak
    • Active Buffs/Debuffs shown as icons on the initiative bar
    • Chat Window added to Versus screen so you can talk while waiting for a match
    • Battle Chat now gets global chats. Send global chats with /global
    • New 'Ding' sound in battle when it is your turn

    Changes:
    • Changed sound ambience in Proving Grounds and Great Hall
    • Unit 'take armor damage' sound varies with the amount of damage taken
    • Unit attack vocalization varies with the number of stars used
    • Update FMOD version to 4.44.02
    • Added some more tolerance to Steam login failures
    • Archer attack ranges reduced by 1
    • Renown gained flag VFX improved

    Bug Fixes
    • Bring The Pain no longer gives too much armor break on initial attack

    Known Issues:
    • Some Mac OSX 10.6.8 clients crash on startup

    General Notes:
    • The game always writes a log file into $HOME/tbs_logs/. You can access this or email it to us for bug reporting
    • Toggle fullscreen with CONTROL-SHIFT-F
    • Toggle performance indicator with CONTROL-SHIFT-P. The number displayed is milliseconds per frame, not FPS

    Build 1.3.63 (Hotfix)

    Changes:
    • Fix shieldwall not stacking properly on unit adjacent to multiple axemen
    • Fix kill counts not updating properly after battle
    • Master classes now have ability information on battle info bar
    • Modified range tile indicators
    • Movement tile issues resolved when using horn
    • Battle maps now load with equal probability
    • Battle popup UI improvements when using horn


    Build 1.3.50 Release Notes
    New Features:
    • Added the new Battle Horn!
    • Strand is decorated for Yule!
    • Unit kill count now shown in Versus screen
    • Replaced Battle Info Bar with new one at the bottom of the screen, and improved its information
    • Rosters cleared, renown reset to 1000
    • Added VFX particle variations for different levels of strength and armor damage
    • Added new ambient sounds for Strand and its various building
    • Added new sounds effects for Forge Ahead and Battering Ram
    • Added new animation on Versus screen

    Bug Fixes:
    • Improved timing of Forge Ahead VFX
    • Fix for expired Slag and Burn, Rain of Arrows showing up improperly on buff icons

    Known Issues:
