    rank 2 specials

does the rank two ability only do what's listed or does it also add +1 damage in addition to what's listed.

so like a warmaster, if you add in that extra willpower will it also do 1 more damage PLUS the bonus damage to adjacent units?

    Thanks.

The rank description in proving ground should be it. Meaning a rank 2 warmaster does his +1str/+1brk to target (total 2/1), and then the adjacent units receive +1str/+1brk (total 2/1, instead of 1/1).

Extra willpower is to activate rank 2 ability (and 3 Willpower for rank 3). Rank 1 ability uses one willpower point, Rank 2 uses two.
If you don't know where to put it - put it in the pillage

And you get to choose which to use, just because your unit is rank 2 doesn't mean you have to use rank 2 ability you can still do rank 1 hits.

Wow. That is going to add some complexity. Curious to see how that will change point distribution.

If you're ability dependent, you can forego exertion. If you can forego exertion, you can put more into willpower for more ability use, or stats for survivability/straight up damage.

Basically, higher ranks mean you can build for utility/ability or for stats.
