Lightbulb Breaking News -- Introducing Multi-Class Units!

Reliable sources, which I cannot disclose at this point, have leaked this ground-breaking piece of information: Multi-class units ARE coming to Factions! Raider multi-class units are presented below (draft):

    Details:
    • After reaching a certain number of Kills, a Rank-1 unit can choose, not to be promoted to Rank-2, but instead be converted to Dual-Class! How awesome is that?
    • For a third promotion, a Dual-Class unit can choose to advance in one of its two classes or to be converted to Triple-Class! Is this too much?
    • Multi-class units can use any of the class abilities, at will.
    • Number of kills required and renown-costs have not been announced, but are expected to be rather high...
    • Min/max stat-limits are the average of the classes involved, rounded-down.

DISCLAIMER: Just kidding, or just dreaming

Ain't OMNI-raider prestigious enough? If you're talking about more luxurious beards, artists are currently working on that

Me knows, that's why I "announced" it! Of course, competitive-enthusiasts are gonna bite-it-down, as too OP, etc. But, imagine the raidthrasher SWing his way to your back lines, just to BF a poor archer

    Hmmm, not a native-speaker here . What's "kappa"? Who's "trollface"?

This would be a fun idea if you could tell which abilities they had.

Would be a nightmare to balance though!

Some distinct features (e.g. the RM's shield, TH's axe, BB's helm) should be enough for telling who is what.

As for the balancing, yeah, it should be a pain You could give them multi-class units a big handicap (apart from the high kill-requirement and renown-cost), like a cost of 2WP per ability-use (instead of 1WP, at rank-1).

They should do this as a optional thing, for like QM only, and make it available for archers/varls too. What a ride that would be. ^^

Ahem... The two abilities are not combined! Imagine placing an RoA across the other side of the map, or a Tempest with Sundering-Impact?

Well, wouldn't those still be cool for Saga if ever? Who knows. Versus the dredge, maybe being OP is just right . it could be part of the progression for heroes in the game.

R2 backbiter R1 raidmaster would be pretty strong.. both of their skills are very useful.. Also if its combinable runthrough/then stonewall after.. not too shabby..

That was my initial idea too! In Factions, this unit can act as a "captain" (something smaller than a hero that is ), and you can only have one captain in each build, and only one per-10 units or so. Extrapolating this, the triple-class unit can be called a "major", you can only have one in each build (replaces the captain), and you can have one major per-20 units or so.

Perhaps these multi-class units can be "unlocked" by some special quests or battles. For instance, each player randomly/periodically receives/finds a "magic item" that can be used only in one battle (then it dissolves) and only once in that battle. This "magic item", used like the horn, can make a unit use a specific/whichever active ability in one of his turns, instead of its own. In this way, if the "magic item" is about Bloody-Flailing, and you use it with a Backbiter, this Backbiter gets eligible for dual-classing as a BB+TH. If you use the "magic item" with a unit of another base-class, you just use the ability, and you don't get this dual-class promoting.
