    Permanent death in battle?

Is it possible, that a hero dies permanenty after defeat in battle?
If so, is it random or is there a counter (like 3 times) or if hit was to hard?

    Thank you!

As long as you win the battle in total, they just get wounded and recover. Always.

If you lose the whole battle (all your units 'die'), it's possible that some of them die permanently, but most of them might escape.

Heroes dying is mainly from story choices, not combat. If a hero dies in relation to combat, it's more because of losing in certain battles. There's no counter or anything from consecutive knockouts for that hero, just that he/she will need time to recover

It should be noted that this extends to heroes who did not even fight with you in battle.
