    Excerpt from IRC:

    [08:45] <LoliSauce> oh man
[08:46] <LoliSauce> combat 2 picture so rich in bg
[08:46] <LoliSauce> and no wonder that one interviewer didn't notice the timer, it's just a ring around the portrait in the turn order
[08:49] <LoliSauce> I also like that the varl's take up more space
[08:50] <LoliSauce> great for meat shields and most likely aoe attacks

Looks great! I don't see any issues with noticing the turn timer.

We just extended the timer to 1 minute and it feels great. Thanks for noticing the larger area the Varl take up, Lolisauce, it plays a huge role in the tactics of combat.

Making people aware that there's a timer is as easy as adding a ticking noise. You don't even need to have it all the time, just in the last ten seconds or so, and possibly a couple of ticks at the beginning of a turn to remind people that the turn is timed.

Good ideas. We were hoping to get in a ticking noise for the last 5 seconds of the timer to remind the player, but it looks like that will not be in for the launch of Beta. It will be in soon after, however.

This is exactly how Wakfu does it, with a tone for each of the last 5 or 10 seconds in the turn. It's funny because hearing that noise can sometimes make you go panic mode and is the most likely spot people will make mistakes. It's pretty funny, how such a little thing can add in so much anxiety during a tense match.

With regards to timer, you guys may want to see how xcom did it in its multiplayer. Generally, it was a countdown timer with a warning sound for the last 10 sec
